Step into Their Shoes. Paint Their Stories.
What was it like to be a kid in 1965? To celebrate SG National Day, we are inviting children (ages 8–12) to become Heritage Detectives. Your mission: Go back in time by talking to your grandparents, discover how they lived, and bring their "Olden Days" to life on our community walls.
A National Heritage Gallery hosted by Monkee Business — All artwork and video interviews will be preserved in an official digital collection, celebrating the heartwarming bond between generations and Singapore's multicultural legacy.
Phase 1: The Discovery (On Paper)
Interview your grandparent about life in 1965. Draw a scene from their childhood — the games they played, the food they shared, the stories they treasured. Transform their heritage into your artwork. Deadline: Before 31 July 2026.
Phase 2: The Precious Moments (Video Legacy)
We will shortlist and record heartwarming video interviews with your grandparent sharing their stories, laughter, and cherished memories. These "Precious Moments" become part of a digital legacy—preserved forever in our online heritage gallery.
🏆 A Special S1965 Honour
Your artwork featured in our digital gallery • Your grandparent's interview video in "Precious Moments" collection • Certificate of Participation by the Organiser.
Submit your entry to swingby@monkeebusiness.com
"To know where we are going, we must first see through the eyes of those who came before us."
Note to Parents & Schools
This initiative is designed to spark Intergenerational Conversations. In a digital age, these face-to-face stories are the most precious heritage we have. By participating, your child isn't just winning a prize; they are documenting a piece of Singapore’s soul .
